Favorite Beer Friday featuring Hideaway '57 Ale
In this week's installment of Favorite Beer Friday, we visit with Brett Murphy and Darren Lister, co-owners of Hideaway Pizza. Their favorite beer is one they had a hand in developing. Hideaway '57 Ale was introduced in late 2015 as the result of many rounds of brewing and refinement with the goal to offer a beer with body, light sweetness and yet a dry finish. The result is a German-style Ale that pairs perfectly with pizza - and no suprise here, is the top-selling beer across the growing number of Hideaway Pizza locations in Oklahoma and Arkansas.
Brett and Darren, through Hideaway Pizza have been early adopters and tremendous supporters of Marshall Brewing since our humble beginnings. We are more than proud that countless fans of Hideaway Pizza have been introduced to craft beer and Marshall Brewing through their restaurants.

What is your favorite Marshall beer and why?
Wow; not a fair question, I am a big fan, of course, of the Hideaway ’57 Ale, it is a lighter bodied beer that pairs well….GREAT…. with pizza! I knew this was going to be a hit when Eric and Wes brought over samples to the Cherry St. location, it is now our top selling beer system wide of all the beers we have a tap and bottle……even in Arkansas, we could not be happier that Marshall came to us with their idea of a lighter beer that our guests could order 1-2 beers to pair with their pizza. Marshall saw that trend very early, that restaurant patrons didn’t really want a heavy beer to pair with their dinner.
Now on a hot summer day its tough to beat the Volks Pils, or This Land Lager is great to sip on while hanging with friends at the Marshall Taproom.
Where do you enjoy drinking your favorite Marshall beer?
Love the new Marshall Taproom, and looking forward to the new Biergarten opening up this spring.
